Living on a budget is the key to financial freedom, but getting started can be frustrating. When we look at our expenses and see all of those bills we're paying every month, it's easy to throw our hands up in disgust. But what about all those little expenses we incur? You might be surprised to find out just how much they amount to.
It's easy to dismiss cutting back on little things. A few dollars a month won't make a significant difference in the big picture. But a few dollars here and a few dollars there adds up to a few more dollars. When you cut back in a lot of small ways, you could end up with a lot more money at the end of the month.
Waste Not, Want Not
One thing we can do that is good for the budget is stop wasting so much. This can apply to many areas in our lives. From eating to home heating, waste equals money going down the drain unnecessarily.
Cooking for the family instead of eating takeout or dining out is a great way to save money. But if you're throwing food out, the benefit is reduced. So if you have leftovers, don't let them end up in the trash. Some dishes freeze well, and this makes for easy dinners when you don't have time to cook. You could also eat dinner leftovers for lunch the following day.
If your home is not well insulated, you're probably wasting lots of money on home heating and cooling. Insulating will cost some money up front, but it will pay for itself quickly. If you have drafts around windows and doors, weatherstripping can help maintain the temperature of your home.
Most households waste an unbelievable amount of electricity. This can be prevented in part by using energy efficient appliances and light bulbs. Turn lights, televisions, computers and other devices off when you're not using them, and open blinds to take advantage of the sun's light during the day.
Do Yourself a Favor: Do It Yourself
Any time you pay someone else to do something that you could do yourself, you're spending money unnecessarily. This applies to little things like buying coffee instead of making your own, as well as to larger expenses such as home repairs.
Many of us buy coffee or a soft drink from a convenience store or coffee shop on the way to work in the morning. This can really add up over time. Instead, make your own coffee, or buy soda in 2-liter bottles and pour some into a smaller bottle or cup to take with you. The same applies to lunches. Instead of springing for fast food, take a sandwich or something microwavable to work.
While we're not all good at all types of repairs and maintenance, most of us can do some things for ourselves. Maybe you could change your own oil instead of paying someone else to do it. If the walls need painting, consider getting friends and family to help you do it instead of hiring a painter. Things like these can save us a noticeable amount of money right away.
When you add up the savings, little things can make a big difference to the budget. So take a close look at your budget and see what small expenses are lurking there. If you can eliminate or reduce them, it could positively impact your bottom line.

Boneheaded Things Brainless Businesses Do
Naturally businesses aren't dense,as a matter of fact the people in the businesses
aren't dopey (I'm being gracious),but they turn moronic as the people in them behave
without thinking.How so? I’m about to explain.
Blockheaded businesses don’t develop overnite.They handle their customers poorly.
It’s plausible that they don’t wish to,simply they do since they have an environment of handling people badly.
Employees are addressed badly and they,successively,treat the clients in like fashion.
1. They don’t worry about the buyer
2. They’re crude or oblivious
3. They do crappy work
I recognize there are reasons they behave this way.I was in a shop lately and the
cashier was so fatigued that she looked like the living dead.Shiny-eyed,she barely
acknowledged I was at that place.She couldn’t ring a specific item up correctly and
volunteered no resolution to the problem. No help.It was entertaining to draw her out of it and detect a smile, but that was for a minute and then she was back to yearning for the day to end.
Last week my daughter ran across an employee at a Subway force everybody out of
the building.Literally.“I can't take it anymore!”,she said.When she got everybody
out she locked the door!
That arrives from above.Managers are above.Thickheaded managers create obtuse
businesses. Stupid managers:
1. Overwork employees
2. Dominate in all matters
3. Do not swallow feedback or suggestions
4. Oftentimes criticize and nit pick
5. Seldom give praise or acknowledgement
6. Lazily require subordinates to do their work for them
7. Holler and react in a hateful manner
That produces an ambiance for feebleminded employees.I have a son that works at a
grocery.His manager takes 10-15 smoke breaks a day.He goes back and discovers
that a yogurt container Is not facing properly and flies off the handle.It’s pitiful.
Another son works in a clothing department.His manager always has it in her head
that the women’s portion of the department is tore apart.“Go over there and clean it
up, it’s atrocious!” Whether it is or not, that is her message.It’s never proper, it’s never fine,and she doesn’t prefer to hear any different.
Above managers in the humble business world are owners.Foolish small business
proprietors establish foolish small businesses.Allow me to put stress on small, I don’t mean small in size here, merely small in quality and integrity.
1. They supply no actual motivators to perform well
2. They are selfish without respect for employees
3. They underpay, contributing only what they have to
I’ve come across a business owner match manager against employees,lie to clients,
negotiate in bad faith, and do all affairs for their personal elevation and welfare.
The business started in a keen, groundbreaking way but became inferior because of the owner.The root for good or bad in the small business.
Stupid businesses are noteworthy just not in a confident way.The famed line from
Forest Gump is genuine, “Stupid is as stupid does.” Half-witted businesses don’t
develop like they could,like the proprietor would genuinely like them to grow. They can be deep-rooted in a good place, sprout and get going, but they'll never get the
compelling fertilizer of referrals or the invigorating water of reversive customers to grow into what they have the potential to become.

Weird Inventions
Weird inventions can be profitable. I just saw a report on the news about an automated dog wash at a car wash. Get the car and the dog clean all at once! Of course, ideas for inventions that are just weird and interesting or funny is okay too. By the way, the ideas below are not patented, so feel free to take them, make them, patent them and earn a few dollars with them. Good luck!
Wind chimes made from bones. There are a lot of people out there who like the morbid side of life, and I'll bet they buy wind chimes too. Of course, they don't have to be human bones!
Machine that induces naps. Some of the brain wave entrainment CDs I've been using for months are really powerful. One puts me to sleep everytime, anytime of the day. This technology could be used to create a system for baby cribs and kid's beds. The machine would play CDs which slow down brain waves and puts kids to sleep. More than a few parents would buy this.
Wall-mounted furniture. Have a steel track built into the perimeter of the room, and furniture designed to hang from this. The couches, tables and chairs wouldn't need legs, and would be easy to clean under. Of course, if you produce the system, the customer has to buy furniture from you.
Furniture that glows in the dark. Perhaps it would be more practical to have just the edges trimmed with a glow-in-the-dark material. No more bumping into the coffee table in the dark, and a nice party atmosphere too.
Alarm clock that uses voices. Here's one of those easy inventions, and it isn't even that weird. Use one of the "sampler" chips that are found in electronic keyboards. Push the button to record a short message-alarm. Wake up to your own voice, or record a wake-up message from a sexy friend for more motivation. Have it say what you want. "You're late for work!" might work, or might just give you a heart attack.
